Install Your eSIM and Get Connected

Add your eSIM to your phone, choose your mobile data settings and stay connected on your trip. Follow the instructions for your device below.

Before you begin

  • Check that your device supports eSIM and is unlocked for other carriers. Support can vary by the country where the model was sold.
  • Use a reliable internet connection; Wi-Fi is recommended for installation.
  • Open My eSIMs in your eSIMoon account and find the QR code or manual installation details for your plan. Do not share your QR code or activation credentials.

Installing an eSIM and starting a plan’s validity period are not necessarily the same event. Check your plan’s activation conditions before installing; do not assume every plan starts only on arrival.

Check device compatibility

Install on your device

Menu names vary with device language, model and software version. These steps are for eSIM-compatible phones.

iPhone

  1. Go to Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR Code.
  2. Scan your plan’s QR code and follow the installation prompts. For manual installation, enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your plan in their respective fields exactly as provided.
  3. Give the new line a recognizable label, such as “Travel”. Completing installation does not mean you can connect before reaching a covered destination.

Samsung Galaxy

  1. Go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
  2. Choose the QR scanning option, scan your plan’s code and follow the prompts. If manual entry is offered, use the installation details supplied with your plan.
  3. When the download finishes, give your new line a recognizable label.

Google Pixel

  1. Go to Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM.
  2. Follow the prompts to scan your plan’s QR code. If manual entry is offered, use your plan’s installation details.
  3. Complete setup and check that your travel line has been added.

If the QR code is on the same phone

Open the code on another screen or use manual installation details if provided. On supported iPhone software, touching and holding a QR code in the default email app or browser can offer “Add eSIM”. Gallery scanning and same-device methods are not available on every device.

Connect when you arrive

  1. Check that you are in a covered country and your plan still has valid time and data available.
  2. Enable your travel eSIM and select it for mobile data. Review voice and SMS preferences for your main number separately.
  3. If required by your plan’s instructions, enable data roaming on the travel eSIM. To avoid unwanted data roaming on your main SIM, disable roaming on that line and automatic data switching where available. Main-line call and SMS charges depend on your carrier.
  4. Briefly turn off Wi-Fi and try opening a web page. If it does not connect, use the checks below.

If you cannot connect

  1. Confirm the correct eSIM is enabled and selected for mobile data.
  2. Check coverage, plan status and the data roaming setting again.
  3. If an APN is supplied, use only the value for your plan. Do not guess an APN. Start with automatic network selection; if manual selection is required, choose a supported network listed for your plan.
  4. Toggle airplane mode briefly or restart your phone. If the issue continues, note the error message and contact support.

Do not delete your eSIM while troubleshooting. Reinstallation and QR code reuse depend on your plan’s conditions. Before scanning repeatedly, check whether the line is already installed.

Frequently asked questions

When should I install it?

Check your plan’s activation conditions, then install while you have a reliable connection. Confirm whether early installation starts the validity period.

When does my plan start?

The starting rule depends on your plan. Follow the conditions of the plan you purchased; this general setup guide does not replace them.

Do I need to remove my main SIM?

Usually not on dual-SIM devices. Select the travel eSIM for data and check your main carrier’s roaming, call and SMS charges.
