If you are arriving from abroad, check your current carrier’s Turkey terms first, then compare a travel add-on, a separate eSIM and your accommodation’s Wi-Fi.
Compare the cost of the whole trip
A daily roaming price is only part of the calculation. Check how many days you will be charged, the included allowance, what happens when it runs out and whether calls are included. Do not assume that a plan used elsewhere also covers Turkey; ask your carrier about Turkey by name.
An existing add-on may be sufficient for a weekend. For a longer stay, compare the total cost rather than the headline daily rate. Using a separate data eSIM does not automatically remove call or text charges on your usual line.

Review your phone’s recent usage, then allow for activities you do not normally do at home. If hotel Wi-Fi is part of the plan, ask whether it reaches guest rooms rather than only shared areas.
A city centre, a coastal resort and a rural excursion may have different network conditions. Review the selected plan’s coverage for your route. A country label or advertised network technology is not a promise of identical performance everywhere.
Keep arrival simple
Save your hotel address and transfer meeting point before travelling. At arrival, choose the intended mobile-data line and follow your order’s roaming instructions. Check automatic data switching so the phone does not unexpectedly use your home line. If the connection does not start, consult the instructions or support before deleting the eSIM profile.
